A Humble tribute to Hazrat Muhammad صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - Khātim an-Nâbîyīn, "The Seal (Last) of the Prophets!
Qasīdat al-Burda (Arabic: قصيدة البردة‎, "Ode of the Mantle"), or al-Burda for short, is a thirteenth-century ode of praise for the Islamic prophet Muhammad composed by the eminent Sufi mystic Imam al-Busiri of Egypt. The poem whose actual title is al-Kawākib ad-dhurriyya fī Madḥ Khayr al-Bariyya (الكواكب الذرية في مدح خير البرية, "The Celestial Lights in Praise of the Best of Creation"), is famous mainly in the Sunni Muslim world. It is entirely in praise of Muhammad, who is said to have been praised ceaselessly by the afflicted poet, to the point that the Prophet appeared in a dream and wrapped him in a mantle or cloak; in the morning the poet discovers that God has cured him.[1][2]

مَوْلَایَ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ دَائِمًا اَبَدًا
عَلٰی حَبِیْبِکَ خَیْرِ الْخَلْقِ کُلِّھِم
مُحَمَّدٌ سَیِّدُ الْکَوْنَیْنِ وَالثَّقَلَیْنِ
وَالْفَرِیْقَیْنِ مِنْ عُرْبٍ وَّ وَمِنْ عَجَم
ٍ
ھُوَ الْحَبِیْبُ الَّذِیْ تُرْجٰی شَفَاعَتُہ،
لِکُلِّ ھَوْلٍ مِّنَ الْاَھْوَالِ مُقْتَحِم
ِ
یَارَبِّ بِالْمُصْطَفٰی بَلِّغْ مَقَاصِدَنَا
وَاغْفِرْلَنَا مَامَضٰی یَا وَاسِعَ الْکَرَمِ
قصیدہ ء بردہ شریف (عربی:قصيدة البردة) ایک شاعرانہ کلام ہے جوکہ مصر کے معروف صوفی شاعر ابو عبد اللہ محمد ابن سعد البوصیری (1211ء-1294ء) نے تحریر فرمایا۔ آپ کی تحریر کردہ یہ شاعری پوری اسلامی دنیا میں نہایت معروف ہے۔
امام بوصیری رحمۃ اللہ علیہ (1211ء-1294ء) پورا نام ابو عبد اللہ محمد ابن سعد البوصیری ایک مصری شاعر تھے جوکہ مصر میں ہی رہے، جہاں اُنہوں نے ابنِ حناء کی سرپرستی میں شاعرانہ کلام لکھے۔ اُن کی تمام تر شاعری کا مرکز و محور مذہب اور تصوف رہا۔
اُن کا سب سے مشہور شاعرانہ کلام قصیدہ بردہ شریف ہے جوکہ حضور پاک صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ و سلم کی نعت، مدحت و ثناء خوانی پر مبنی ہے اور اسلامی دنیا میں نہایت مشہور و مقبولِ عام ہے۔
قصیدہء بردہ شریف کے لکھنے پر بھی ایک واقعہ ہے کہ اس قصیدے کو لکھنے سے پہلے، امام بوصیری کوڑھ کے مرض میں مبتلا تھے۔ اسی عالم میں آپ نے حالات سے پریشان ہوکر داد رسی کے لئے یہ قصیدہ تحریر فرمایا، اُسی شب امام بوصیری کو خواب میں حضور پاک صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ و سلم کی زیارت ہوئی اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ و سلم نے امام بوصیری کو اپنی کملی عنایت فرمائی۔ دوسرے دن جب امام بوصیری پیدار ہوئے تو وہ کملی آپ کے جسم پر موجود تھی اور آپ مکمل طور پر صحتیاب ہوچکے تھے۔
Bānat Suʿād, a poem composed by Ka'b bin Zuhayr was originally called as Al-Burdah. He recited this poem in front of Muhammad after embracing Islam. Muhammad was so moved that he removed his mantle and wrapped it over him. The original Burdah is not as famous as the one composed by Imam al-Busiri even though Muhammad had physically wrapped his mantle over Ka'b not in a dream like in the case of Imam al-Busiri.
Qasida Burda Sharif or Al-Burda (Ode of the Blanket) is a tribute Naat written by Egyptian Sufi Imam al-Busiri in praise of the Prophet SAW. It is narrated that Imam wrote it during his paralysis and saw Prophet appearing in his dream, wrapping him in a blanket and curing him of the illness. It has been performed by artist across the Muslim world, some examples below.
